Chain of Responsibility Resources for Tasmanian Transport Businesses
The Tasmanian Transport Association has worked with three Tasmanian Transport businesses, to explore how they are responding to the Chain of Responsibility provisions of the Heavy Vehicle National Law.
The project involved working with each of the participating businesses to identify and document their transport activities including mapping to identify CoR parties, and to review business practices in the context of Chain of Responsibility. A report on the project, along with case studies of each of the participating businesses is provided below. Also provided is a checklist to identify a party’s role in the Chain of Responsibility (adapted from the NHVR resource) and a summary of risk types and suggested controls (adapted from the Transport Industry Master Code), and a template risk register pre-populated with common risk types drawn from the Master Code.
This project was funded by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative Program, with the support of the Federal Government, to raise awareness of and acceptance for CoR provisions under the Heavy Vehicle National Law.
